RESPILAC

LIPIDURE® AND HYPROMELLOSE LUBRICATING OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION FOR CONTACT LENS WEARERS

DESCRIPTION

Respilac is an ophthalmic solution indicated to moisturize and lubricate the ocular surface, particularly in contact lens wearers. It is based on Lipidure® and Hypromellose. Lipidure® polymer acts both on the ocular surface and on the contact lens, with many properties and effects. First of all, it increases the distribution and the residence time of the solution on the ocular surface; it also has water retention properties to allow the reduction of the tear film evaporation and improve the hydration of the soft lenses; it increases contact lens wettability, thus reducing the friction between the contact lens and the corneal epithelium. (1)

On the other side, Hypromellose has good muco-mimetic, viscoelastic and water retention properties, thus it is able to restore and stabilize the tear film creating a protective, transparent and elastic shield (2). Furthermore, the Respilac bottle is fitted with an OSD (Ophthalmic Squeeze Dispenser) dropper which, through its multi-layer air filter and tip-seal valve system, ensures that the sterility of the product is maintained without preservatives.

INDICATION

Tear stabilising and reintegrating substitute of the tear film. Useful in case of alterations of the corneo-conjunctival surface related to quali-quantitative deficiencies of the tear film resulting from inflammatory states, imbalance of the oxidation-reductive potential, accumulation of free radicals, mechanical and environmental stress on the surface of the eye.

COMPOSITION

Lipidure® 2.0%, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose 0,1%.

AVAILABLE
FORMULATION
